Download 2Fin Your Finance, Your Way.

Two ways to use 2Fin: keep your records on your own PCs, or take them anywhere in your browser. Pick the one that fits.

Windows app

Keep it yours.

Your records stay on your own computers, and everything you do with them works offline.

  • Sync between your PCs through your own folder, encrypted, without 2Fin in the middle
  • No account needed on the free plan
  • A “What was sent” record of every request, and Airplane mode to pause them all
  • Fin’s intelligence through a privacy relay that masks account numbers first, or through your own provider key
Download for Windows

Version 1.2.35, 123 MB. Windows 10 and 11; macOS and Linux to follow.

Side by side

Each is complete on its own. What differs is where your records live and what each can reach.

Where your records live

Windows app: On your own computers, in a folder you can open, copy and back up.

Web app: In your 2Fin cloud account, encrypted at rest.

Sync

Windows app: Between your PCs, through a folder you choose, such as OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive or a USB stick. Sealed with one passphrase, so the folder’s owner cannot read it and 2Fin is not in the path. On every plan.

Web app: Automatic, across every device you sign in on, your phone included.

Works offline

Windows app: Yes. Everything you do with your own records works without a connection.

Web app: No. The web app needs an internet connection.

Devices

Windows app: Windows 10 and 11 PCs, including ARM machines. macOS and Linux to follow.

Web app: Any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer.

Fin’s intelligence

Windows app: Through 2Fin’s privacy relay, which masks account and card numbers, emails and long reference codes before anything is sent. Or use your own provider key, or a local model that keeps every answer on your PC.

Web app: Built into your account: chat with Fin on every plan, and automatic categorising on paid plans.

Bank feeds

Windows app: Connect a BankSync or SimpleFIN account you hold, read-only, or a personal bank token such as Up Bank. CSV import works too.

Web app: Connect a BankSync or SimpleFIN account you hold, read-only. CSV import works too.

Price and plans

Windows app: Free, with no account. A paid plan is bought from a 2Fin account and unlocks when you link the app; a few extras that need a server, such as email receipts, are web-only.

Web app: Free to start. Premium is US$23 a month, ELITE+ is US$42 and AUTO+ is US$54, billed in US dollars.

Both work in every country you can choose in the app, with GST, VAT or sales tax on record for 88 countries. What 2Fin covers in each country · Compare the plans

Which one is right for you?

Each is complete on its own, so pick the one that fits.

Questions people ask

Do I need both?

No. Each is complete on its own; pick the one that fits.

Can I switch later?

Yes. Export your transactions as a CSV from one, with Export CSV on the transactions list, and bring that file into the other with its CSV import.

Is 2Fin free in both?

Yes. The free plan works in the Windows app with no account at all, and in the web app with a free account. Paid plans start at US$23 a month. In the Windows app, a paid plan is bought from a 2Fin account and unlocks when you link the app; a few extras that need a server, such as forwarding receipts by email, are web-only.

Can I use the Windows app on more than one computer?

Yes. Turn on “Keep this computer in step with your others” under On more than one computer, in Where your data lives, then choose a folder your computers already share, such as OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive or a USB stick, and one passphrase for all of them. Your changes travel through that folder sealed with the passphrase, so the folder’s owner cannot read them, and 2Fin is not in the path. Every computer keeps its own full copy, and it works on every plan, Free included.

Is there a Mac or Linux version?

Not yet. Windows is the only desktop build today, with macOS and Linux to follow. On a Mac, use the web app: in Safari choose File, then Add to Dock, or in Chrome or Edge select the install icon in the address bar.

Is 2Fin in the App Store or Google Play?

No. On a phone, open the web app in your browser and add it to your home screen: in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen; in Chrome on Android, open the menu and choose Install app. It then opens from your home screen like any other app.

For IT admins: installing 2Fin for Windows silently

Run "2Fin Setup <version>-x64.exe" /S. It installs for the current user only, needs no administrator rights and never needs a restart.

Exit codes from the 2Fin for Windows installer
Exit codeWhat it means
0Installed successfully.
1Installation cancelled by the user. This can’t happen with /S, because there is no window.
2Installation stopped before it finished. This happens when another 2Fin installer is already running, 2Fin was open and couldn’t be closed, or the previous version couldn’t be removed. Close 2Fin and try again.

Uninstalling keeps your records folder (%APPDATA%\2Fin by default) unless you choose to delete it when the uninstaller asks. A silent uninstall always keeps it.
