For small business

Intelligent bookkeeping for small business

Running a small business means wearing every hat. 2Fin takes bookkeeping off your plate — categorising spending automatically, surfacing deductions, and keeping you tax-ready — so you can spend your time on the business, not the books.

What Fin does for you

Bookkeeping that runs itself

Transactions are categorised automatically as they happen, so your books stay current without the data entry.

A clear view of the numbers

See where money goes, spot patterns, and make decisions with confidence — intelligent insights from your real spending.

Tax time without the dread

Deductions are surfaced and categorised all year, so the end of the year is a review, not a rebuild.

The $20,000 write-off question, answered honestly

The ATO published a $20,000 instant asset write-off threshold for 2023-24 through 2025-26 and, so far, nothing for 2026-27. Fin does not carry last year’s figure forward: the register shows “confirm the current limit” with the ATO link until a threshold is published, and runs prime cost or diminishing value on everything else.

Did you know?

University was free in Australia from 1974 to 1988: the Whitlam government abolished fees in 1974, and they returned in 1989 with HECS, the income-contingent loan repaid through the tax system.

Wikipedia records that the Whitlam government 'abolished university fees' in 1974 and that the Hawke government set up the Higher Education Contribution Scheme in 1989; HELP later 'replaced' HECS, and HELP debts are indexed to the 'Consumer Price Index (CPI) on 1 June each year'.

Germany's 'Soli' began in 1991 as a temporary 7.5% surcharge on income tax, lapsed in 1993–94, returned in 1995 to pay for reunification and fell to 5.5% in 1998 — and since 2021 about 90% of former payers owe nothing.

German Wikipedia: in 1991–92 the surcharge applied for only half of each year (effectively 3.75%), justified by Gulf War costs and 'zusätzliche Aufgaben in den neuen Bundesländern'; reintroduced without time limit in 1995 for the 'Kosten der deutschen Einheit'; 5.5% since 1998; from 2021 a Freigrenze with a sliding zone relieved 'rund 90 % aller Soli-Zahler'.

Small business — common questions

Does it replace my accountant?

No — it makes your accountant faster. Your books stay clean and your deductions organised, so the work you hand over is tidy and complete.

Can it handle business and owner spending?

Yes. Business and personal transactions are separated automatically, so your business records stay clean even when expenses get mixed.

How does 2Fin keep your business tax-ready?

It categorises deductible spending throughout the year and keeps reports ready, so preparing for tax is straightforward. 2Fin helps you find and organise potential deductions; always confirm what applies to you with your accountant or tax authority.

Can I write off the new equipment immediately this year?

Only if it qualifies under the instant asset write-off rules for the year you first use it, and the threshold for 2026-27 has not been published by the ATO at the time of writing — the confirmed $20,000 figure covers 2023-24 to 2025-26. Fin shows the write-off option with a prompt to confirm the current limit rather than printing a number, and otherwise depreciates the asset over its effective life. 2Fin helps you find and organise potential deductions; always confirm what applies to you with your accountant or tax authority.

Can a small business start on the free plan?
